Christine Kharazian
Violinist and Educator

Bio

    Christine Kharazian is a concert violinist. 
    An honors graduate of the Komitas State Conservatory, and the Tchaikovsky Advanced School of Music in Yerevan, Armenia, she studied violin under the tutorship of Professors Hrachya Harutyunyan, a pupil of Leonid Kogan, and Edward Dayan, a pupil of David Oystrakh. 
    She performed with the Armenian National Opera's Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. She was also the Solo Violinist of the Sharakan Ensemble of Ancient and Medieval Music of the Armenian TV and Radio. 

    Christine Kharazian is an active performer. As a soloist, she has appeared with concerts at the Kennedy Center, the Strathmore Hall, the Dumbarton House, the Gallery at The Ellipse, and various Embassies in Washington, among other venues. 
Christine Kharazian is an experienced educator. An alumna of the Inspired Teaching Institute, she taught music and violin at
Fillmore Arts Center in Washington, DC, and currently is a violin instructor at Sidwell Friends School.
Christine Kharazian is also the author and presenter of a series of interactive programs in music education. 
As a performing and teaching artist, she collaborates with
CHIME (Community Help in Music Education), offering her programs to hundreds of DCPS students through Arts for Every Student - a project of the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative, benefiting many of the District's public and charter schools.
